Outpatient Services

outpatient treatment

Aurora Behavioral Health System offers intensive outpatient programs for adults and adolescents who are 13 years and older. Our outpatient programs provide a range of specialized therapy groups for specific mental health needs. A person can enroll in our outpatient programs even if they have not been in one of our inpatient programs.

Key benefits of outpatient group therapy programs include:

  • Helping individuals develop social skills that may have previously been lacking. In some cases, a lack of social skills can lead to self-isolation, depression, and even substance abuse.
  • Providing examples of other people who are further along in their recoveries. These in-person examples can serve as inspiration and proof that positive behavioral change is possible.
  • Giving people who struggle with behavioral health an opportunity to interact with others who understand their challenges. Often, people who face behavioral health challenges feel uncomfortable discussing their issues with friends and family. Group therapy sessions provide a supportive and judgment-free environment for people to discuss their struggles with other people.
  • Providing an ongoing support group. Without outpatient group therapy, many people who struggle with behavioral health would be on their own. Outpatient programs allow people to access the support they need while being able to tend to the responsibilities of their family and professional lives.

Our outpatient programs can assist individuals who need support with maintaining the progress that they achieved during inpatient care. Additionally, our outpatient programs can be the right choice for people who require more than individual counseling sessions to manage their mental health.

Aurora Behavioral Health System’s outpatient programs provide a safe and recovery-focused environment. Importantly, patients can receive outpatient treatment while maintaining their everyday activities, such as work and school. We encourage families to participate in the healing process.

Our team at Aurora Behavioral Health System aims to make outpatient group therapy accessible to everyone. Complimentary transportation may be available. If you or a loved one has difficulty accessing transportation for an outpatient program, contact our team for more details regarding our transportation solutions.

Through our outpatient care programs, our team helps patients achieve lasting behavioral change. We equip patients with the skills they need to continue improving their mental health even after discharge. Additionally, our mental health professionals often rely on information from family and loved ones to get a more complete picture of a patient’s ongoing needs. We typically consult with each patient’s family and loved ones to ensure that the patient’s home environment is safe and conducive to continued mental health improvement.

We can help you determine which outpatient program is right for you or a loved one. For more information and appointments, contact our outpatient services program today at 877.870.7012 or contact us online. A member of our team can answer any questions you may have about our programs or facilities. Additionally, we can schedule you or a loved one for a free mental health assessment. With the results of a free mental health assessment, our clinical team can recommend a behavioral health treatment program that best fits each patient’s needs.
