Treating Increased Acuity in Adolescents: Interventions for Clients, Self-Care Strategies for Clinicians.

This presentation discusses the topic of adolescent mental health with a concentration on the higher acuity of cognitive and behavioral challenges youth are currently experiencing due to the increased isolation, stress, etc. related to the COVID-19 pandemic. This presentation will also discuss the importance of self-care for professionals in the helping profession.

In this presentation, attendees will :

  • Obtain an increase awareness of the mental health issues in our current climate that are impacting our adolescent clients.
  • Learn how to identify areas of intervention with higher acuity adolescents.
  • Have an increased understanding of levels of care.
  • Gain an understanding of tools to support self-care for helping professionals so that they can provide care for others.
