May is Mental Health Month!

Since 1949, the month of May has been observed as Mental Health Month with the goal of reaching millions of people to spread the word that mental health is something everyone should care about. Each year, millions of Americans face the challenges of living with a mental illness. During May, Aurora joins the national movement to raise awareness about the importance of mental health.

“While 1 in 5 people will experience a mental illness during their lifetime, everyone faces challenges in life that can impact their mental health.” – Mental Health America.

As the leader of Mental Health Month, Mental Health America released a 2020 toolkit, Tools 2 Thrive. This kit provides practical tools that everyone can use to improve their mental health and increase resiliency regardless of the situations they are dealing with.

Aurora is proud to provide a variety of mental health resources, activities, and thoughtful ways you can take part in Mental Health Month, even while practicing social distancing!
