Detox and Chemical Dependency

Aurora Behavioral Health System offers adult inpatient chemical dependency services for adults 18 and over requiring detoxification and treatment for alcohol or drug addiction. Treatment consists of a period of detoxification in which the patient receives medical care during withdrawal from alcohol and/or drugs. An interdisciplinary approach brings together psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment experts within the context of a short-term, highly specialized and individualized program.

Adolescent Programs

Aurora Behavioral Health West in Glendale offers short-term, acute care services to meet the needs of adolescents who are struggling with emotional and psychological problems. Adolescents ages 13 through 17 are treated and cared for by licensed professionals whose combined specialties focus on dealing with depression, substance abuse, aggression, rebellion, self-injury and suicidal behaviors.

Decades Older Adult Program

Senior adult patients aged 60+ seek treatment at Aurora to address issues such as depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, disorientation, paranoia, behavioral issues and chemical dependency. Aurora developed a program specifically designed to provide in-depth diagnosis, relying on the expertise of several Geriatric Mental Health Practitioners, to generate comprehensive treatment plans which are individually crafted to meet each patient’s needs and produce quick and lasting change.

Uniformed Services Track

Aurora provides a comprehensive spectrum of treatment at both the inpatient and outpatient level for active duty service members and their dependents, as well as veterans who are suffering from a myriad of issues. We offer a warm, inviting atmosphere where patients actively participate in their own treatment. We have a military liaison who works closely to coordinate care with community providers as well as to ensure the specialized and unique needs of each patient on this track are met.

Outpatient Services

Aurora Behavioral Health System's Outpatient Services offers partial hospital and intensive outpatient programs for both adults and adolescents. We provide specialized therapy groups for specific mental health needs and a dynamic Adult Chemical Dependency Program. Outpatient program participants return home daily after attending Aurora's outpatient programs, promoting confidence and independence.

ECT Treatment

Electroconvulsive Therapy, or more commonly referred to as ECT, is most commonly used to treat depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia (unresponsive to Clozapine) when other ongoing treatment has not worked, including medications and talk therapy. ECT is a medical procedure performed by a qualified psychiatrist, anesthesiologist and ECT nursing team.
